Endace (LSE: EDA), world leaders in network monitoring and recording, today announced the launch of the latest version of its NetFlow generation engine and support for "Yet Another Flowmeter" (YAF) on its entire range of Monitoring and Recording Systems.

Endace NetFlow Generator 2.0 is built from the ground up by Endace software engineers and breaks new ground in terms of performance and accuracy for monitoring network traffic for planning, security and analysis. The new engine has been designed specifically to cater to the high traffic throughput requirements of 10Gb/s, 40Gb/s and 100Gb/s networks and is fully NetFlow v5, v9 and IPFIX compliant.

Running on a 1U Series 3000 EndaceSensor, NetFlow Generator 2.0 is capable of generating unsampled NetFlow from 30Gb/s of IPv4 and/or IPv6 traffic with 100 percent accuracy. This extraordinary performance puts the Endace NetFlow Generator in a class of its own.

"The shift to 10Gb/s networking and the need for greater levels of accuracy is driving the shift towards dedicated NetFlow sensors," said Neil Livingston, chief product officer at Endace. "NetFlow is an essential feed to a range of different monitoring and security applications. By deploying Endace NetFlow as one of the features on a multi-function EndaceProbe or EndaceSensor, organizations can get a very cost-effective and highly accurate solution to the problem of NetFlow generation."

Endace NetFlow Generator is a core feature of the Endace Application Suite, which is delivered standard with every Endace System. The Application Suite comprises a suite of applications that address the core monitoring and security needs of every high-speed network.

Recognizing that federal organizations have a requirement to use specific tools, Endace is also announcing support for YAF on its entire range of Systems. Using the exact same performance tests as those used for the Endace NetFlow engine, YAF has been proven to deliver 3.2Gb/s of throughput on the same 1U EndaceSensor. With 100 percent accuracy, this throughput performance makes Endace Systems the best performing platform for running YAF.

About Endace

Endace provides open network monitoring and recording systems that form the basis for mission-critical network security, monitoring and measurement solutions. Endace network monitoring systems are designed to be deployed from the edge to the core of the network, creating a complete monitoring and recording fabric on top of which a range of custom, open-source or commercial application performance monitoring tools can be deployed.

One hundred percent packet capture is now widely accepted as a non-negotiable input to applications that are being used to help organisations manage risk, reputation and compliance. Based on proprietary DAG® I/O technology, Endace's network monitoring systems and network packet sniffer tools have a global reputation for consistently monitoring and recording 100 percent of network traffic on any network interface and at any speed from 10Mb/s to 100Gb/s.

Based in Auckland, New Zealand, Endace also has offices in the U.K. and the United States. Quoted on London's AIM, the stock code is LSE: EDA.
