SEUR has become the new collaborating member of the Companies for Energy Efficiency platform in the urgent transport and logistics sector. The association, headed by Endesa, is an initiative that includes relevant private companies from different sectors, enabling them to establish themselves as market leaders in Spain in terms of energy efficiency and reducing the carbon footprint. The aim of the platform, formed in 2011, is to develop value proposals aimed at energy efficiency for society in general and it includes members such as Cemex, Cepsa, Meliá Hotels International, Philips, Renfe, Telefónica, Toyota, Unibail Rodamco and Carrefour.

Only one company per sector is accepted and a new collaborating member periodically joins the group. On this occasion, the sector to be included is the urgent transport and logistics sector, in which SEUR is the chosen company.

The platform has a series of values such as: energy efficiency and reducing the carbon footprint, an eminently practical approach generating value for its members and society in general and collaborating via a meeting forum to encourage interaction between member companies and other public and private entities. Since it was formed, the platform has managed to save three and a half million tonnes of CO2 and the aim is to reach 5.5 million by 2020.

The membership agreement was signed by SEUR at Endesa's headquarters (Endesa is the founding member) and the event was attended by Javier Uriarte, Head of the General Marketing division at Endesa and Alberto Navarro, CEO at SEUR.

SEUR has reinforced its CSR policy and has become the leading operator in Sustainable Mobility by incorporating alternative vehicles into its fleet, providing training in efficient driving and optimising delivery routes. Last year, SEUR managed to reduce CO2 emissions by 16% compared with 2015. This represents a total of 106 million carbon-neutral deliveries in 2016 and 120,000 parcels per month delivered in alternative vehicles. The company now has these vehicles in more than 20 Spanish cities.
