Santiago, September 7th, 2017 - For the first time, Enel Americas entered the Dow Jones Sustainability Index (DJSI), in the DJSI Chile category. This index measures yearly the performance of 2,500 large companies worldwide, listed in the most relevant stock exchanges.

The companies invited to form part of the DJSI must submit documentation relative to their economic, environmental and social management performance, risk control branding, climate change mitigation and compliance with labor standards and practices.

'Being part of the Dow Jones Sustainability Chile Index encourages us to continue improving in order to remain among the leaders in this matter. This achievement has been made possible thanks to the effort of a whole team striving for sustainability to be at the core of the business', stated Luca D'Agnese, General Manager for Enel Americas.

The Dow Jones Sustainability Chile Index (DJSI Chile) is formed by those leading companies grouped in accordance with their sustainability score (TSS).

The universe of eligible companies includes those forming part of the IGPA and which have a market capitalization adjusted to the floating capital above US$ 100 million. The sustainability score of each component of the index should be in the percentile above 40% and it is necessary to select at least one company from each GICS (Global Industry Classification Standard) eligible sector. The score obtained by Enel Americas was significantly above the average quoted.
