The Board of Directors of Energen Corporation (NYSE: EGN) today declared a quarterly cash dividend of 2 cents per share payable December 1, 2014, to shareholders of record on November 14, 2014.

Energen’s dividend historically has been supported primarily by the earnings of its natural gas utility at a payout ratio in keeping with the dividend practices in that industry. Energen completed the sale of its natural gas utility on September 2, 2014, and the new dividend is reflective of the company’s position today as a pure-play, oil-focused exploration and production company.

Energen Corporation is an oil and gas exploration and production company with headquarters in Birmingham, Alabama. The company has approximately 775 million barrels of oil-equivalent proved, probable, and possible reserves and another 2.5 billion barrels of oil-equivalent contingent resources. These all-domestic reserves and resources are located primarily in the Permian Basin in west Texas. For more information, go to http://www.energen.com.
