Energy Resources of Australia Ltd (ERA) advises that Mrs Helen Newell has resigned as a non-executive director of ERA with effect from 11 June 2014, due to her relocation to London.
ERA is pleased to announce the appointment of Ms Joanne Farrell as a non-executive director of ERA with effect from 11 June 2014.
Ms Farrell is currently the Global Head of Health, Safety, Environment and Communities (HSEC) for Rio Tinto and is responsible for leading the team that provides policy, standards guidance and governance of HSEC matters for the Rio Tinto group of companies. Ms Farrell has held a number of roles in 27 years with Rio Tinto, including in the Iron Ore, Aluminium, Diamonds, Exploration and Energy groups.She brings extensive experience in HSEC, human resources, organisational effectiveness, communications and external relations.
Ms Farrell is a Director of the Western Australia State Training Board and the Perth Institute of Contemporary Arts (PICA) and an Advisory Council member for Central Institute of Technology. She is also a member of the Sustainability Committee of the Minerals Council of Australia and a member of Chief Executive Women.
Ms Farrell holds a bachelors degree in Science from University of Western Australia and a Graduate Diploma in Business Administration from Curtin University of Technology.
