Making your own hydrogen on your own premises

Hydrogen is used frequently in the oil and chemical industries, as well as in electronics. But it is often transported and delivered in a liquid state. Would it not be easier and cleaner to make renewable hydrogen locally, through a simple process of water electrolysis? This would provide locally produced energy that is free from transport costs and boasts a low environmental impact.

• An on-site electrolyzer, powered by green energy from wind farms, hydroelectric dams, biomass, solar panels, or geothermal energy

• An energy storage unit for a guaranteed energy supply. The renewable hydrogen you make can also be used by other companies or local authorities, in particular as fuel for vehicles

You can also use the oxygen and heat produced during electrolysis of water in your industrial processes, to improve the output of your facilities or heat nearby buildings.

Using hydrogen to make synthetic methane

What if instead of seeing your CO emissions as unavoidable waste, you could recover value from them? You can: by capturing them and mixing them with dihydrogen (H2) made on your site, turning them into synthetic methane.

Synthetic methane is clean energy that you can store and use on-site. It can be used in the same way as natural gas, in its gas or liquid state. It can be transported elsewhere or injected into the gas network to generate additional income.

Help expand 'Power to gas' in your area

If you produce clean energy (solar, wind, biomass, etc.), you can compensate for their intermittent nature with hydrogen and the technology known as 'Power to gas'. Power to Gas is a process that lets you store the excess clean energy you produce as hydrogen or synthetic methane. Once processed, they can be injected into the natural gas network. The hydrogen can even be used to fuel your vehicles!
