ENGIE and FFVL (French Federation of Free Flight) are announcing the renewal for the tenth year in succession of the ENGIE Kite Tour, the FFVL French Kitesurfing Speed Crossing Cup. The 2017 edition will offer high-quality competition spread over four French beaches from June to October. The Group is also extending its support for Alex Caizergues, a member of Team ENGIE since 2009 and the current kite speed world record holder (56.62 knots, or 104.8 km/h), set on November 11, 2013.

As part of its commitment to the FFVL, ENGIE is the official sponsor of the ENGIE Kite Tour, the FFVL French Speed Crossing Cup. Using the power of the wind and the power of the waves, kitesurfing perfectly symbolizes the use value of the renewable marine energies advocated by the Group for the development of low-carbon energies. Within a few years, this competition, which was created in 2004, has become one of the favorite challenges for France's top kitesurfers, and it is the number one event for popularizing kitesurfing and encouraging people to take part.

What makes the ENGIE Kite Tour special? Riders choose their own equipment (race, surf, foil, twin tip, directional, etc.) and they compete - always in a fun-filled atmosphere - in both men's and women's races split into three age groups: juniors, seniors and veterans.

The renewal of this partnership also strengthens the Group's commitment to 100% renewable green energies.
