Doha, 23 July 2017 - Eni Chief Executive Officer Claudio Descalzi, and Saad Sherida Alkaabi, President and Chief Executive of Qatar Petroleum met today in Doha.

The parties discussed different aspects of the present and possible future cooperation between Qatar and Eni in the LNG field and in the whole oil sector.

During the visit, Claudio Descalzi met Qatar's Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani and Qatari Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani.

Qatar is the largest LNG producer and exporter in the world, with a 77 million tons per year liquefaction capacity. In 2016 it covered 30% of the world LNG consumption.

Eni has a privileged relationship with Qatar since a long time, being a major European buyer on a long term contract basis. The contract with Qatar forms part of the Eni's Lng portfolio together with an increasing share of equity production coming from upstream projects all overall the world.
