Eni's CEO updated the President Sein on projects and activities that will be developed in the Country. The recent entry of Eni in Myanmar further confirms the Company's strategy to strengthen its presence in Southeast Asia

San Donato Milanese (Milan), 17 October 2014 - The President of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar, Thein Sein , met today in Milan Eni's CEO, Claudio Descalzi.

During the meeting, Eni's CEO updated the President Sein on projects and activities that will be developed in Myanmar following the recent entry of Eni in the country.

Eni has been assigned last July, with two exploration permits in the onshore blocks, RSF-5 and PSC-K, in joint venture with the state-owned company Myanmar Exploration and Production Company Ltd, and in which Eni is operator with a 90% stake (Myanmar Production and Exploration Company, 10%).

The entry of Eni in Myanmar, a rapidly developing economy and recently opened to international markets, further confirms the Company's strategy to strengthen its presence in Southeast Asia, where it is already present in China, Vietnam, Indonesia and Timor Leste.
