Work on ENKA's 1500 MW Combined Cycle Power Plant Project located in Besmaya, Baghdad has progressed significantly. As of the end of August 2016, engineering and procurement activities for the Project are substantially completed.
Since the commencement of the Project; total of 67,000 m3 of concrete has been poured, 8,630 tons of structural steel and 3,223 tons of storage tank plates have been erected. 1,137 tons of steel piping have been installed and 232,000 lm of cable has been pulled. Mechanical erection of GTG Units, HRSGs, Cooling Towers and BOP equipment has progressed significantly. Pre-commissioning and commissioning activities of Simple Cycle scope have commenced. Overall EPC progress is circa 80%. Total 8,000,000 man-hours were spent by the end of August 2016.
400 non-manuals and 2,500 manual labors are actively working for the Besmaya Project.
