Entergy Mississippi Workers Restore Following Arkansas Snow Storm

Nearly 100 travel to assist Entergy Arkansas customers

JACKSON - Following the restoration of customers after storms on Christmas Day, Entergy Mississippi, Inc. is sending teams to help those without power due to a blizzard in Arkansas. The company is sending nearly 100 highly-experienced restoration workers and support personnel to aid the customers of Entergy Arkansas, Inc.

"Now we've turned the lights back on for our own customers, and thankfully, the weather threat has passed out of our service territory," said Robbin Jeter, director of transmission and distribution operations for Entergy Mississippi. "So we're in a great position to help those without power in Arkansas. Highs there are in the 40s this week, and we're sending both our company employees and our resident contract work force to help restore folks there as quickly and safely as possible."

The Entergy Mississippi mutual assistance group includes scouts, who assess damage, and tool workers, who will help rebuild the electrical system. Scouts left yesterday, and the tool workers departed early this morning.

In the immediate aftermath of the blizzard, there were more than 242,500 Entergy Arkansas customers without power.
