Thousands of people on the West Bank woke up without power Friday morning after a vehicle crashed into an Entergy substation.
About 5,500 people in Westwego and Marrero were still without power as of 7 a.m., according to Entergy. As many as 25,000 people were without power after the crash.
Crews were working to "safely repair the damage" before power could be restored, Entergy said, estimating power for many could be restored as early as 7 a.m. The crash occurred in the early hours Friday morning.
