E.ON has expanded its venture capital activities by becoming an investor in Space-Time Insight. Based in San Mateo, California, Space-Time Insight develops real-time visual analytics applications that enable companies to respond rapidly to dynamically changing markets and operating conditions. E.ON will use Space-Time Insight's products primarily for its renewables and smart metering businesses.

The two partners will start by working together to develop a software solution that will reduce the error rate on the data acquired from smart meters.
