Epiq Systems Names Andrew Shimek as Managing Director, Global eDiscovery Solutions

KANSAS CITY, Kan., Jan. 7, 2015 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Epiq Systems, Inc. (Nasdaq:EPIQ), a leading global provider of integrated technology solutions for the legal profession, today announced the appointment of Andrew Shimek as managing director, global eDiscovery solutions. Mr. Shimek will lead Epiq's eDiscovery business to ensure versatile solutions and unparalleled service worldwide.

Mr. Shimek previously served as the senior executive responsible for the sales and operations of Epiq's class action and mass tort solutions, bankruptcy creditor solutions and trustee services business units. He joined Epiq in 2008 as head of sales for Epiq's settlement administration, class action and mass tort business.

Prior to joining Epiq, Mr. Shimek directed national corporate accounts for the eDiscovery solutions division of LexisNexis, where he advised law firms and corporations on eDiscovery strategies and implementation. He is a former litigator and holds a JD Magna Cum Laude from the University of Minnesota and a BA Summa Cum Laude from the University of St. Thomas.
