UPC, Private Equity Eye Poland's Multimedia: Sources - Reuters

Permira, EQT Corp. (>> EQT Corporation), Mid-Europa Partners and local rival UPC are considering placing bids for Poland cable group Multimedia Polska, which is up for sale for about 700 million euros ($861 million), the Reuters news agency said Tuesday on its website, citing unnamed sources close to the deal.

First round bids are due next week, the sources said in the report.

UPC, the private equity groups and JP Morgan Chase & Co., (>> JPMorgan Chase & Co.) which is running the deal for Multimedia, refused comment while Multimedia wasn't immediately available for comment, the report said.
