Genoa, 20 April 2017 - ERG celebrates ten years of sustainability reporting. ERG has actually been presenting the economic, social and environmental results of its operations since 2006. The 2016 edition, prepared according to the GRI (Global Reporting Initiative) G4 guidelines, has been drawn up starting with the 'materiality analysis', a process allowing identification of the most significant themes and contents for both the Company and its stakeholders. Again this year, the Report has been approved simultaneously with the Consolidated Financial Statements so as to ensure an integrated vision offering a full and exhaustive coverage of ERG's achievements. The year 2016 saw ERG's consolidation in Europe as a leading IPP (Independent Power Producer) from renewable energy sources with low environmental impact besides being the first wind operator in Italy . ERG is in fact now able to rely on a portfolio of high quality assets, diversified from both a geographical and a technological standpoint, with an overall installed capacity of 2,728 MW, including around 1,721 MW of wind power, 527 MW of hydroelectric power and 480 MW of thermoelectric power. In recognition of the actions taken and strategies pursued to combat climate change together with its disclosure transparency, ERG received the Award as Best Newcomer Italy assigned by the Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP) in collaboration with Borsa Italiana.

The matter of Sustainability is a key element within ERG's culture: each objective undertaken for the three-year period 2016-2018 was analysed and compared against the UN SDGs (Sustainable Development Goals), namely the 2030 sustainable development targets defined by the United Nations.

In 2016 ERG generated around 7.5 TWh of electricity, equal to the requirement of approximately 3 million households, avoiding the emission of almost 3 million tons of CO2, corresponding to 800,000 return flights between Rome and New York. ERG adopts international standards and best practices for the management of its plants, as also confirmed by the certifications issued to our operational sites and work places with regard to health, safety and the environment. Insofar as concerns occupational safety, in 2016 ERG carried out more than 400 on-site audits and periodically arranges competitions for both employees and outside companies to enhance their knowledge and awareness of the subject which is considered of paramount importance by ERG. Training is another fundamental aspect for the development of the staff. In 2016, 96% of the company's personnel took part in internal and external courses representing a per capita total of around 5.6 days. In 2016 ERG was also committed to locally promoting technological innovation and business skills developed by the world of start-up companies via two different and complementary projects: • XEI (eXtended Enterprise Innovation) which connects European companies and innovative 'ready-to-market' start-ups; • ERG Re-generation Challenge aimed at promoting entrepreneurial initiatives in the renewable energy and 'green economy' sectors for implementation in the Terni area. There are numerous activities carried out in the areas where the Company operates aimed at generating sustainable value in terms of environmental education, social, cultural and sports development (Vai col Vento!, Giornata dell'Energia Elettrica,), Salone della Sostenibilità, Inda, Umbria Jazz, Festival della Comunicazione, Torneo Ravano, Stelle nello Sport, Trofeo Archimede).
