From October 27 - 29, 2014, Sarajevo is the host of the X International Symposium on Telecommunications, organized by the Faculty of Electrical Engineering University of Sarajevo, under technical co - sponsorship by the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers Region 8 (IEEE R8), in co-operation with major partner, BH Telecom. The Symposium was opened by MSc Gordana Kovačević, the President of Ericsson Nikola Tesla, holding a Keynote Speech "ICT Innovations in the Networked Society".

X International Symposium on Telecommunications was opened by Prof. Dr. Sc. Narcis Behlilović, the Dean of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering University of Sarajevo, which is also the organizer of the Symposium. Prof. Dr. Sc. Ivo Komšić, the Major of Sarajevo, welcomed the participants, while MSc Nedžad Rešidbegović, BH Telecom Director General, greeted the attendees on behalf of BH Telecom.

At the Symposium, a total of 32 papers were presented, which met the strict criteria of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE R8), and the works are signed by 71 authors from Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Slovenia, Serbia, Czech Republic, Germany, Ukraine, Russia and United Kingdom. This year's topics were numerous, and they encompassed Communication and Information System Security, Implementation of Cloud Computing Solutions, Integration of Information and Telecommunications Systems, Management in Communication Systems and Networks, Next-Generation Networks, Optical Networks, etc. 

Special attention was given to Round Table, where the topic of discussion was "Digital Agenda in Bosnia and Herzegovina". A total of three plenary lectures were held, presenting the topics that follow ICT trends. Thus, Dr. Sc. Howard Benn, from the Samsung Electronics Research Institute, held a lecture on "Developments in 5G Cellular Technology", while Dr. Adnan Mehonić, from the University College London, held an interesting lecture "More than Moore".

The honor of Symposium opening and Keynote Speaker was given to the President of Ericsson Nikola Tesla, Gordana Kovačević, MSc, who, in front of many respectable international experts, and in the presence of a great number of distinguished representatives of Academia, as well as business, social and political life, presented the idea and the vision of the Networked Society. The topic of innovations that in the Networked Society, transform business and society globally, arouse great interest among the listeners, and Gordana Kovačević, throughout the presentation "ICT Innovations in the Networked Society", was pleased to share Ericsson experience and vision, as well as the examples of Ericsson Nikola Tesla best practice.
