Eros International Plc (NYSE:EROS) (“Eros”), a leading global company in the Indian film entertainment industry, announced today that its majority-owned subsidiary, Eros International Media Limited, released its film line up for calendar year 2016. The Company plans to release over 65 films across multiple languages this year, making it the largest slate by any Indian studio.

In addition to a series of exciting directorial ventures by Sanjay Leela Bhansali, Kabir Khan, Aanand L Rai, and others, we believe Eros’ compelling content will continue to captivate audiences worldwide.”

In 2015, Eros remained the box office market leader with three out of the top five grossing Bollywood films. The Company was also recently recognized at the Stardust, Sony Guild, Screen and Filmfare awards receiving a total of 46 awards for its films.

Eros will continue its association with talented producer-director, Aanand L Rai and their joint production company Colour Yellow Production to produce and release a slate of projects including, Nil Battey Sannata, Happy Bhaag Jayegi, a comedy that pairs Abhay Deol and Diana Penty and Manmarziyan, a romantic drama.

Eros’ 2016 film slate comprises a mix of high-profile, content led films in Hindi and other regional languages including Marathi, Bengali, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Punjabi. Examples include regional releases like Sanjay Jadhav's Guru, award winning director Sujay Dahake's Phuntroo, Prakash Kunte & Jara Hatke in Marathi and Telugu super star Balakrishna’s Dictator, which released on January 14, 2016. The Company also has a strong Tamil pipeline set up with the release of Rajini Murugan earlier this month and a series of Tamil films that will release later this year, including Suriya’s 24, Enkitta Mothathe, and Uyire Uyire to name a few.

During Diwali 2016 Eros will release Ajay Devgn’s action drama, Shivaay. After the back-to-back strong successes of Goliyon Ki Rasleela Ram-Leela and the latest epic blockbuster Bajirao Mastani, Eros and Bhansali Productions will take their association forward with additional co-productions, details of which will be announced soon.

Finally, Eros will release Vinay Sapru and Radhika Rao’s musical love story Sanam Teri Kasam starringnewcomers Harshvardhan Rane and Pakistani actress Mawra Hocane as the romantic leads; Do Lafzon Ki Kahani by Deepak Tijori with Randeep Hooda and Kajal Agarwal as the lead pair, as well as Chef, starring Saif Ali Khan, a remake of 2014’s Hollywood hit Chef.
