26 February 2014: Escher Group today announced the inclusion of its mobile wallet in an "open mobile commerce ecosystem", which is part of the GSMA's Connected City initiative at this year's Mobile World Congress Exhibition in Barcelona, Spain. The Connected City is being pioneered by the GSMA with the aim to showcase how mobile is delivering a rich customer retail experience.

The Connected City initiative highlights the interoperability of wallet vendors and digital coupon, as well as, how coupons from multiple sources and multiple brands can be securely stored on the SIM card and redeemed at a single merchant. Other vendors include DEUTSCHE TELEKOM, GEMALTO, and VERIFONE.

Donal McGuinness, Managing Director, Escher Interactive Services,

"We are very excited to be part of this collaboration with the GSMA. This multi-vendor initiative showcases the ability to push coupons securely into multiple mobile wallets and redeem them at a single vendor. Escher's mobile wallet and loyalty solutions deliver innovative and cost effective ways in which retailers can collaborate with each other, engage with their customers and increase revenues".

Escher's mobile wallet currently provides retailers with solutions to achieve cost efficiencies by digitizing redemption, validation and settlement of loyalty coupons. It helps protect retailers from fraudulent activity and delivers real time business intelligence to enable retailers to deliver relevant value-adding customer loyalty and acquisition initiatives.

Since 2012, Escher's mobile reward solutions have been deployed to over sixty high street retailers throughout Ireland. Brands include Daybreak Convenience Store, Health Matters, Finnbees Coffee House, Graham O'Sullivan and most recently the newly launched food court Green and Baker in Dublin's prime shopping centre, St Stephen's Green.
