In the scope of the International Nurses Day, celebrated on May 12, professionals of Hospital da Luz Setúbal will organize clarification sessions open to the general public on healthy food habits as a form to prevent and control diabetes and hypertension, two of the major health problems affecting the Portuguese population.

These awareness initiatives are a way for the Hospital to pay homage to all nurses and highlight the importance of their work.

As a matter of fact, Hospital da Luz Setúbal being the largest private health unit on the south bank of Tagus river, the General Directorate of Health and Nursing decided, such as in previous years, to celebrate the 2017 International Nurses Day with interventions near the community, taking into consideration the needs of the region.

The clarification sessions on diabetes and hypertension will take place on Floor 0 of Hospital da Luz Setúbal, between 10:00 a.m. and 18:00 p.m.

The International Nurses Day is celebrated on May 12, for it is the anniversary of Florence Nightingale, considered the founder of modern nursing. Its purpose is to pay homage to all nurses in the world and remind the population that their work is fundamental in healthcare providing.
