EVA Airways Corp. (2618.TW) said Friday it swung to a first-quarter net loss owing to higher operating expenses.
EVA, Taiwan's second-largest airline by revenue after China Airlines Ltd. (2610.TW), said in a statement net loss for the three months ended March 31 was NT$1.08 billion, compared with a net profit of NT$269.3 million a year ago.
In the first quarter revenue rose 5.7% to NT$25.57 billion from NT$24.18 billion.
