Reflecting on a busy summer, Eversource is proud to recognize its amazing employees and all the volunteer work they've done across the state.

Whether it's painting walls, sorting through food, cleaning up landscapes, or even building a house, Eversource employees are always happy to lend a hand.

Extra help is always needed at local food pantries. At the Connecticut Food Bank in Wallingford, employees spent a day in July packing more than 13,000 pounds of meat to be distributed to people in need. That same month, another group visited Foodshare in Bloomfield and sorted through enough food to provide the local community with more than 7,000 meals.

Haddam Senior Center got a little facelift after Eversource volunteers took the time to freshen up the community center with a few coats of paint and brightened up the outside with some landscaping.

Volunteers also gave back to some furry friends. At Fidelco Guide Dog Foundation in Bloomfield, employees prepped for its annual Ride for Independence Fundraiser. Money raised supports Fidelco's services for veterans, first responders, and their families.

In August, Eversource employees strapped on their toolbelts to build shelves at the Hartford Public Library and also to set up for the annual Hartford County 4-H Fair in Somers.

Many of the organizations shared their appreciation on their social media pages.

Fidelco Guide Dog Foundation said on Facebook:

'Volunteers from Eversource CT are working extremely hard in humid conditions today to help prep for this Sunday's Fidelco Ride for Independence. These folks know how to get a job done! Volunteers are truly the heartbeat of our organization.'

CT Food Bank expressed excitement on Twitter:

'TY @EversourceCT for your volunteer work! Can you believe this group packed 13,233 lbs. of food for our #community?! @EversourceCorp TY '

Our employee volunteers will be constantly pitching in throughout the year helping local non-profits. Eversource is committed to giving back to the communities it serves and empowering these great organizations.
