SAN DIEGO, CA--(Marketwired - Jun 19, 2014) - Excel Trust, Inc. (NYSE: EXL) today announced that it is commencing an underwritten public offering of 10.0 million shares of common stock. The Company has granted to the underwriters an option to purchase up to an additional 1.5 million shares within thirty days after the offering. All shares are being offered by the Company.

The Company intends to use the net proceeds from the offering to partially fund certain property acquisitions which the Company has recently placed under contract, and for other general corporate and working capital purposes. These acquisitions are subject to the completion of due diligence and the satisfaction of other closing conditions.

Barclays Capital Inc. and Raymond James & Associates, Inc. are joint book-running managers for the offering.
