Health Care for the Homeless (HCH) will host its first “Free Market” on April 11, 2014, from 12:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. at 421 Fallsway in Baltimore. More than 400 individuals experiencing homelessness are expected to shop for essentials such as socks and underwear, travel-size soaps and shampoos, water bottles, and snacks at the market, which will be stocked and staffed by employee volunteers from Constellation.

HCH outreach workers will be on hand to help people enroll in Medicaid and to provide information about a range of HCH and community services available to assist them.

“Through Friday’s Free Market, Constellation employees join our dedicated staff in meeting our clients’ most basic human needs,” said Kevin Lindamood, HCH president and CEO. “Constellation is a model of corporate commitment to the Baltimore community and to the most vulnerable among us.”

Constellation employees donated hundreds of items for the HCH Free Market. Approximately 50 volunteers from Constellation will stock the market and assist individuals in finding items that they need. Volunteers will also paint and refresh the outside entrance to HCH’s headquarters.

“Constellation and our employees are committed to improving the quality of life in the communities we serve,” said Robert Gauch, chief credit officer for Constellation, and HCH board member. “We’re proud to support the mission of HCH, which is vital to the well-being of thousands of individuals and families in our hometown of Baltimore.”

  • Adult Size Socks
  • Adult Short-Sleeve T-Shirts
  • Men’s Boxers and Briefs
