Today, 14 new PECO aerial line mechanics celebrated the completion of an intensive 13-week training program, joining the front lines to ensure safe, reliable, clean, affordable energy for customers.

PECO’s aerial line school training program develops the fundamental skills new aerial line mechanics need to work safely on the company’s electric distribution system. More than 800 people applied for this year’s program.

“Our graduates have my deepest congratulations,” said Craig Adams, president and CEO. “This is tough, physically challenging work. But the training these individuals received – from some of the best in the industry – has them well positioned to safely and successfully work on our advanced electrical system and meet the needs of our customers and the communities we serve.”

Conducted at the company’s Plymouth Training Complex located in Plymouth Meeting, PA, this innovative training complex includes state of the art classroom facilities, indoor utility poles and electrical equipment simulations, and an outdoor training yard.

In addition to field maintenance and repair skills, the program focuses on electric distribution fundamentals, electric theory, circuit design, emergency response, safety and first aid. Candidates also develop an essential understanding of the company’s advanced electric distribution equipment.
