Local residents are invited to learn about the station at this annual event

DELTA, PA - Have you ever wanted to see the inside of a nuclear power station's control room? Come visit the Peach Bottom control room simulator during Community Information Night to see firsthand how operators harness the power of uranium to create safe, reliable power for more than two million homes and businesses.

Peach Bottom Atomic Power Station will host Community Information Night on Thursday, June 4, 2015 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Residents are encouraged to attend this free, family-friendly event to learn more about nuclear energy, plant operations and current events at Peach Bottom.

Station employees will be on hand to educate visitors on operations, site maintenance, engineering practices, environmental stewardship, industrial safety, radiological safety, site security, emergency preparedness, used fuel storage, community outreach and much more.

Visitors will receive a guided bus tour of the site and can also view the plant's main control room simulator, which is used to train and test reactor operators. Informational handouts and light refreshments will be provided.

"Community Information Night is a great opportunity for us to interact with the local community and teach them about what we do here each and every day," said Peach Bottom Site Vice President, Mike Massaro. "It is always a fun time, and we are looking forward to this year's event."

Visitors are asked to park in the station's outer parking lot at 1848 Lay Road. Buses will transport visitors to the training center.
