Extended Call for Abstracts and Online Registration: 8th International UHMWPE Meeting in Torino, Italy

The Implant Research Centerof Drexel University, the University of Torino (link to:https://en.unito.it/), and Exponent, Inc., are pleased to extend the call for abstracts for the 8th International UHMWPE Meeting until August 15. The meeting itself will be convened in Torino, Italy, on Thursday and Friday, October 19 and 20, 2017.
The purpose of the meeting is to bring together engineers, scientists, and clinicians from academia and industry and present leading edge research on advancements in medical grade UHMWPE technology and clinical applications. The focus of the 8th meeting is on clinical and retrieval studies of highly crosslinked UHMWPE (HXLPE), with a special emphasis on the performance of thin acetabular liners and knee arthroplasty; HXLPE performance in upper extremity, ankle, and spine; international registry outcomes for HXLPE in hip and knee; novel UHMWPE articulations with ceramic and PEEK bearing surfaces; advances in Vitamin E and new antioxidant technologies for UHMWPE; advances in thermal processing of HXLPE; structural composites and woven fiber applications of medical grade UHMWPE; as well as advances in biologic aspects of UHMWPE wear debris.

Abstract Submission Details
Please download the MS Word Abstract Template from www.uhmwpe.organd use it to fill in your abstract (2 page maximum length). Extended abstract submission will close by midnight EST on August 15, 2017. Please download the abstract template and use it as a guide in your submission. Email your completed abstract to the conference chairman, Steve Kurtz (skurtz@exponent.com). Authors should be notified of the decision by August 15.
