Exxaro Coal (Pty) Ltd and the NUM have reached a multi-year (3 years) wage agreement which brings the current wage strike at its Grootegeluk and Leeuwpan mines to a conclusion.

Mzila Mthenjane, 'We are pleased that the parties were able to resolve the dispute speedily'.
Leeuwpan employees are expected to return to work on Friday, 22 September, while Grootegeluk employees will start on Monday, 25 September 2017.

Positive engagements continue with Solidarity, the other trade union recognised for collective bargaining.
We are working closely with all stakeholders to ensure that the affected mines resume operations safely.
