BERLIN and CULVER CITY, Calif., Sept. 3, 2014 /PRNewswire/ --M-GO, a premium digital movie and TV streaming service, today announced a new virtual reality browsing app for video content discovery called M-GO Advanced. M-GO Advanced is launching as the first video browsing app on Samsung Gear VR which is powered by Oculus and was announced earlier today at Samsung's Unpacked Event leading up to the IFA Consumer Electronics Unlimited Tradeshow in Berlin.

M-GO Advanced puts people in a virtual reality space where they can search, discover and navigate through exciting premium movie and TV show content from major Hollywood studios, with future plans in the works to develop the experience into a virtual video store.

"This app is a perfect marriage of emerging and mobile technology, providing a new way for people to enjoy digital media entertainment," said Adam Balest, M-GO Technical Product Lead. "M-GO Advanced is creating a new paradigm that blends the best of physical and virtual experiences into one offering."

Launching later this year, M-GO Advanced provides a visually tactile interface that responds to a person's actions. People can visit "rooms" which house different genres like Sci-Fi or comedy and categories such as new releases or deals. Each room presents a different environment which is characterized by the specified genre's motif; a person visiting the Sci-Fi room will see futuristic details like glossy panels, metal and technology motifs.

"Samsung Gear VR seamlessly blends industry-leading mobile technology with advanced virtual reality capabilities to create an incredible platform for new apps," said Chan-Woo Park, Vice President of Product Strategy Team in Mobile Division at Samsung Electronics. "We believe this unmatched, immersive environment offers an ideal mobile platform for the rich, entertainment content of M-GO Advanced."

At launch, a person will be able to navigate room to room by fluid, gliding movements - turn their head to the left and right or tilt up and down to increase the user interface option and spatial recognition. M-GO Advanced provides a crisp and clear virtual reality space that features poster art, trailers and still images from popular movie and TV shows where people can bring these elements to the forefront to get a closer look, or place other features in the background.

M-GO Advanced was announced today in partnership with Samsung and will be available for download later this year. The app will be demoed at the Samsung boothat the City Cube Berlinwhere people can experience the Sci-Fi room's futuristic setting and check out the latest poster art, still images and trailers for the genre.
