Every year, nearly four million young people are served by Boys & Girls Clubs. To celebrate these extraordinary efforts, Family Dollar Stores, Inc. (NYSE: FDO) today announced it is partnering with Boys & Girls Clubs of America (BGCA) for a four-week program called, “Open the Door for America’s Kids.” Beginning November 1, Family Dollar customers can make a monetary contribution to the organization to be donated to their local Boys & Girls Club this holiday season.

“After learning how many children are served by Boys & Girls Clubs across the country each year, we knew we wanted to lend a hand,” said Howard Levine, Chairman and CEO of Family Dollar. “We are thrilled to be teaming up with such an incredible organization, and I know that together, we can help provide a happier holiday season to many children and families across the country.”

As part of the “Open the Door for America’s Kids” program, Family Dollar will distribute toys, gifts and treats at several Boys & Girls Clubs this holiday season.

“With four million children depending on their local Boys & Girls Club each year, we are thrilled to have the support of Family Dollar for this very special program. Together, Boys & Girls Clubs of America along with Family Dollar will ensure that the thousands of children who may not have a gift to open this year have a much brighter holiday season,” said Jim Clark, President and CEO of Boys & Girls Clubs of America.
