(PITTSBURGH, Pa., December 31, 2012) - Federated Enhanced Treasury Income Fund (NYSE: FTT) today paid a distribution per share of $0.073.  The fund employs a managed distribution plan to support a level distribution to shareholders that may be comprised of income, capital gains and/or return of capital.  Under the plan, the fund makes monthly cash distributions approximating 5.5% of the fund's net asset value (NAV) on an annualized basis based on the fund's NAV from the previous month-end.  The fund may make distributions in excess of those required under the plan in order to meet its obligations under the Internal Revenue Code.  This press release is issued as required by the fund's plan.

The distribution paid today is based on the fund's NAV of $15.96 on the last business day of November 2012.

Shareholders should not draw any conclusions about the fund's investment performance from the amount of this distribution or from the terms of the fund's plan.  The fund's estimated sources of the distribution paid in December and for its current fiscal year are detailed below.

1 The fund's current fiscal year began on Dec. 1, 2012.

The fund estimates that it has distributed more than its income and net realized capital gains; therefore, a portion of the distribution may be a return of capital.  A return of capital may occur, for example, when some or all of the amount the shareholder has invested in the fund is paid back to the shareholder.  A return of capital distribution does not necessarily reflect the fund's investment performance and should not be confused with "yield" or "income." The amounts and sources of distributions reported are only estimates and are not provided for tax reporting purposes.  The actual amounts and sources of the amounts for tax reporting purposes will depend upon the fund's investment experience during the remainder of its fiscal year and may be subject to changes based on tax regulations.  The fund will send shareholders a Form 1099 DIV for the calendar year that will tell shareholders how to report these distributions for federal income tax purposes.
