Imasen presents Feintool with the award for "Best Supporter for Localization"

23.04.2015

The largest customer in Japan has presented Feintool with an award for "best support" in transferring a parts contract to another site.

Feintool has been honoured by automotive supplier Imasen for the successful preparation and organization of the transfer of a large contract for seat adjuster parts from Japan to China. Marcel Pernici, Head of Feintool System Parts Asia, received the award from Imasen president Osamu Fujikake.

Imasen, which supplies parts to automotive manufacturers such as Honda, Nissan, Mitsubishi and Subaru, is producing an increasing number of seating frames in China, where the cars are assembled and sold directly on the Chinese market. Feintool is also following this strategy of local production and is therefore now having these seat adjuster parts for Imasen manufactured in China. The tools manufactured by Feintool in Japan were thus brought to Taicang, where they were re-approved and re-tested, and are now fully available for production in this initial localization project.

However, the majority of the overall order will still be produced in Japan in future, as its market is still of the utmost strategic importance to Feintool. Feintool has been present on the Japanese market for over 30 years and has a production facility in Atsugi alongside a technology centre for the further development of fineblanking technology. The opening of the Tokoname site in 2005 significantly increased production capacity once more.
