The Brazilian FDA student takes two wins in the opening round of the Italian Formula 4 Championship. A great start to the season for rookie Petecof.

The youngest drivers in the Ferrari Driver Academy have had great starts to their 2018 season in the Italian Formula 4 Championship. Enzo Fittipaldi won two of the three races held last weekend at the Adria circuit and, combined with a third place in Race 2, the 16 year old Brazilian now leads the series on 65 points. 'It was a great weekend,' commented Fittipaldi. 'It began with two pole positions and a second place in qualifying and I am really happy with the way the weekend went overall. In the races, we took two wins and a third place, which is a great way to start what looks like being a very tough season. There are areas where we can still improve and I can't wait to get back on track.'

Gianluca Petecof also had a good weekend, with three wins in the rookie category, topped off with a second place overall in Race 2. 'Overall, it's been a good weekend,' explained the 15 year old from Sao Paulo. 'Race 1 turned out to be a bit complicated, but I finished fifth, but the next race was great. I managed to move up from fourth to second and then stay there to the flag to take my first ever podium finish in single-seaters. Race 3 was a bit more complicated, but in the end we finished seventh. It's a good way to start the championship, we were always in with the front runners, had a good race pace and we know what we must to do for the coming races. It's my first year in single-seaters and it's a whole new world, but I am very pleased with this first weekend, given that I came away from Adria in third place overall in the championship.'
