Fiat is one the European leading car manufacturers. Net sales break down by activity as follows:
- sales of individual cars (92.6%): Fiat, Lancia, Alfa Romeo, Ferrari, Maserati brands, etc.;
- sales of automotive parts (6.8%): vehicle components (modules and components for lighting, suspension, electrical, transmission, gear boxes, and similar systems), automated automotive production systems (Comau), and metallurgy products (Teksid);
- other (0.6%): primarily services provided to businesses (temporary staffing, training, maintenance, etc.), publication of the journal Stampa, and sales of advertising space (PubliKompass).
At the end of 2012, the group had 158 production sites worldwide.
Net sales break down geographically as follows: Italy (8.7%), Europe (15.5%), North America (54%), Latin America (14.1%) and other (7.7%).
