Comment on FCA's May Sales in Europe

In May, FCA sales in Europe totaled 110,100 vehicles (+0.2% over the prior year) with market share at 7.6%. Alfa Romeo sales for the month were up 12.2% year-over-year. Jeep brand sales were up 101.3%, representing the highest increase for any brand in Europe. For the five months year-to-date, the two brands posted sales increases of 12.9% and 66.4%, respectively. The Fiat 500 and Fiat Panda dominated the A segment once again with a combined share of 32.25%. The Fiat 500L was among the top three in its segment, while the Fiat 500X and Jeep Renegade were among the top ten in their respective segments. The Alfa Romeo Stelvio and Jeep Compass continued to register gains across Europe, with the Stelvio steadily positioned among the top ten in its segment and the Compass continuing its strong upward momentum.

Fiat Chrysler Automobiles posted May sales in Europe (EU28+EFTA) of 110,100 vehicles (+0.2% year‐over‐year), with market share at 7.6%.
The Group posted particularly positive sales results for the month in France (+25.1% vs 0.2% for the industry) and Spain (+15.2% vs 7.2% for the industry).
For the five months year-to-date, Group sales totaled more than 491,700 vehicles and market share was 6.9%. For the major European markets, sales were up 17.2% in France (+3.5% for the industry) and 19.3% in Spain (+10.5% for the industry).
FCA ranked fourth overall in the European sales ranking for both May and the year-to-date.

Fiat brand posted European sales of 76,700 vehicles in May and market share was 5.3%, with sales increasing 20.1% year-over-year in France and 8.6% in Spain.
For the year-to-date, brand sales totaled nearly 348,400 vehicles with market share at 4.9%. Through May, sales increased 14.1% in France and 13.2% in Spain.
The 500 and Panda continued as the two best-selling vehicles in the A segment, with a combined share of 32.25% for the month. The Fiat 500 was segment leader with nearly 19,500 units sold in May and 93,600 for the year-to-date (+3.7% over the prior year). Runner-up was the Panda with nearly 18,400 units sold in May and 76,600 for the year-to-date.
With more than 10,300 units sold, the Fiat Tipo was first in its segment in Italy and ranked in the top ten in the European C segment. The Fiat 500L continued as one of the three most popular vehicles in its segment, with nearly 6,700 vehicles sold, while the Fiat 500X confirmed its position among the top ten in its segment with year-to-date sales up 5.25% to nearly 46,800 vehicles.

Lancia/Chrysler sold more than 5,000 vehicles in May with market share at 0.4%.
Year-to-date, brand sales totaled 23,200 vehicles with market share at 0.3%.
In Italy (the only market where the brand is sold), the Lancia Ypsilon continued as one of the best‐selling vehicles, ranking fourth overall.

Alfa Romeo posted May sales of nearly 9,200 vehicles, an increase of 12.2% year-over-year. Market share was in line with the prior year at 0.6%.
Year‐to‐date, sales were up 12.9% to more than 41,800 vehicles. Market share was 10 basis points higher at 0.6%.
The brand outperformed the industry in several European countries, for both the month (Italy +3.8%, Germany +8.6%, France +7.2% and the UK +32.0%) and the year-to-date (Italy +15.2% and France +12.6%)
Driving these results were the Alfa Romeo Stelvio and Giulia. Already leader in its segment in Italy, the Stelvio is also among the top ten in Europe with more than 3,100 vehicles sold in May and 13,600 vehicles for the year-to-date (+218.4%). The Giulia was one of the best-selling D-segment vehicles in Italy and well-received in markets across Europe, with 8,500 vehicles sold for the year-to-date.

Jeep brand sales in May were up 101.3% year-over-year (the highest of any brand in Europe) with nearly 18,500 vehicles sold. Market share was 70 basis points higher at 1.3%.
The brand posted particularly positive results in all major markets, with sales in Italy up 129.6%, Germany +28.9%, France +72.7%, the UK +115.2% and Spain +77.5%.
Year-to-date, brand sales were up 66.4% to 74,000 vehicles and market share was up 40 basis points to 1.0%. For the major markets, year-to-date sales were up 102.6% in Italy, 14.5% in Germany, 44.8% in France and 80.1% in Spain.
The Jeep Renegade continued among the top ten in its segment, with May sales in Europe up 19.1% to 8,600 vehicles. The Jeep Compass also posted a very strong performance with sales of nearly 8,300 vehicles in May and 33,200 vehicles year-to-date.

For Maserati, the Group's luxury brand, European sales totaled 645 vehicles in May and 3,689 for the year-to-date.
