FCA outperformed the European market once again in June, with sales up 12.9% (versus 6.5% for the industry). Market share was 30 basis points higher at 6.5%. By brand, sales were up 22.4% for Alfa Romeo, 16.2% for Jeep and 13.9% for Fiat. The Fiat Panda and Fiat 500 continued to dominate the A segment with a combined share of nearly 29.0%. The Fiat 500L led the Small MPV segment with a 29.8% share. The Fiat 500X and Jeep Renegade continued among the best- selling models in the Small SUV segment and the new Tipo continued its climb up the European rankings.

FCA closed the month of June with year-over-year sales growth in Europe (EU28+EFTA) significantly higher than the industry average. In fact, Group sales totaled 98,700 vehicles, increasing 12.9% versus 6.5% for the industry overall. As a result, market share was 30 basis points higher at 6.5%.

FCA also outperformed the industry average for the six months year-to-date, with sales up 16.8% (versus 9.1%) to nearly 551,000 vehicles.

In June, the Group outperformed the industry in all major markets, with sales up 13.5% in Italy (versus 11.9% for the industry), 15.3% in Germany (versus 8.4% for the industry), 7.0% in France (versus 0.8% for the industry), 7.6% in the UK (versus -0.8% for the industry) and 27.5% in Spain (versus 11.2% for the industry).

Fiat brand sales in Europe were up 13.9% year-over-year to 75,600 vehicles, representing the brand's 22nd consecutive monthly increase. Market share was 30 basis points higher at 5.0%.

The brand outperformed the industry in all major European markets, with sales increases of 13.9% in Italy, 11.7% in Germany, 9.7% in France, 1.2% in the UK and 37.2% in Spain.

Year-to-date, brand sales were up 17.6% to 419,000 vehicles, with market share 40 basis points higher at 5.2%.

The brand remained the undisputed leader in the European A segment with the Panda and 500 holding a combined share of nearly 29.0%. The 500 was overall leader, with more than 19,000 units sold, followed by the Panda, with over 17,200 vehicles sold (+16.25%). The 500L continued as leader in the Small MPV segment with a 29.8% share and over 9,500 units sold. The 500X - solidly positioned among the top four in its segment - posted another strong monthly increase with sales up 45.7% to more than 11,200 vehicles. The new Fiat Tipo also continued to gain momentum, ranking second in its segment in Italy in June and steadily climbing the European rankings with a total of more than 5,200 units sold for the month. The all-new 124 Spider had a successful debut, closing the month among the top five in its segment.

Lancia/Chrysler posted June sales of nearly 5,800 vehicles with share unchanged at 0.4%.

For the year-to-date, brand sales were up 12.0% to 40,250 vehicles and share was stable at 0.5%. Sales of the Ypsilon were up 17.7% compared with the first six months of 2015.

Alfa Romeo closed June with approximately 6,700 vehicles sold (+22.4% year-over-year) and European market share stable at 0.4%. Sales performance was particularly positive in Italy (+34.1%), Spain (+6.2%) and Germany (+80.8%).

Year-to-date, brand sales totaled 33,000 units (+6.8%) and market share was stable at 0.4%. The brand posted increases for the first half in all major European markets. Sales were up 9.7% in Italy, 19.2% in Germany, 0.7% in France, 3.6% in the UK and 7.3% in Spain.

For the Giulietta, sales were up 3.6% for the period to more than 24,000 units. The all-new Giulia - launched in Italy at the end of May and in the other European markets beginning in June - is expected to further boost brand sales across Europe.

Jeep posted a 16.2% increase in June sales to nearly 9,900 vehicles. This represented the brand's 32nd consecutive monthly increase in European sales. Market share was 10 basis points higher at 0.7%.

Year-to-date, brand sales were up 22.7% to nearly 55,200 vehicles and market share was 10 basis points higher at 0.7%.

June sales were up 20.3% in Italy, 25.6% in Germany, 5.9% in France, 11.3% in Spain and 60.5% in the UK.

With more than 7,000 units sold in June, the Jeep Renegade posted a 29.7% year-over-year sales increase and has firmly established itself among the top ten in the Small SUV segment. For the year-to- date, sales of the Renegade were up 46.6% to more than 40,500 units.

For Maserati, the Group's luxury brand, European sales totaled 695 vehicles in June and 3,336 for the year-to-date.
