Comment on FCA's August Sales in Italy

FCA posted August sales in Italy of more than 16,500 vehicles, representing a 12.7% year-over-year increase and outpacing the industry average for the eighth consecutive month. Market share was up 50 basis points to 28.03%. For the eight months year-to-date, FCA sales were 17.1% higher than the same period a year ago. All Group brands registered August sales increases with year-over-year growth of 216.5% for Jeep, 36.7% for Alfa Romeo, 11.8% for Lancia and 3.8% for Fiat. A total of five FCA models - Fiat Panda, Fiat Punto, Lancia Ypsilon, Fiat 500L and Fiat 500 - ranked in the top ten.

The Italian auto market registered another month of growth in August with new vehicle registrations up 10.6% year-over-year to more than 59,200 vehicles. For the eight months year-to-date, new registrations were up 15.0% to more than 1,065,000 units.

FCA outperformed the industry average for the eighth consecutive month this year, with August sales in Italy up 12.7% year-over-year to more than 16,500 vehicles and market share 50 basis points higher at 28.03%.

For the year-to-date, Group sales were up 17.1% (also above the industry average) to
more than 302,000 vehicles and share was 50 basis points higher at 28.4%.
A total of five FCA models ranked among the Italian top ten. The Panda was the clear market leader, followed by the Punto and Ypsilon. The 500 family also posted a strong monthly performance with the 500X, 500L and 500 all ranking among the top selling vehicles for the month.

Fiat brand posted August sales of more than 11,500 vehicles (+3.8% year-over-year)

with market share at 19.6%.
Year-to-date, brand sales totaled more than 222,400 vehicles (+13.2% year-over- year) and market share was nearly 21.0%.
The brand's models all achieved another month of strong results. The Panda continued as the number one selling car in Italy, with more than 3,800 units sold, and was leader in the A segment, with a 40.6% share. The Punto was second overall and leader in the B segment with 2,622 units sold and a 14.4% share. Each of the 500 family models also ranked among the best selling vehicles for the month. The 500X led in the Small SUV segment with more than 1,000 units sold and a 16.7% share. The 500L dominated its segment with more than 1,800 units sold and a 53.4% share. And, with more than 1,400 units sold, the 500 was second in the A segment with a
15.3% share. Combined sales of the 500 and Panda accounted for more than 55% of the Italian A segment in August.

Lancia posted August sales of more than 2,500 vehicles, representing an 11.8%

year-over-year increase and a 4.3% share of the market.

Year-to-date, brand sales totaled just over 39,100 vehicles (+7.2% year-over-year)
and market share was 3.7%.
The Ypsilon maintained its momentum in August with nearly 2,500 vehicles sold, accounting for just under 14.0% of the Italian B segment.

Alfa Romeo sales were up 36.7% in August to more than 1,260 vehicles with market share at 2.1%.

For the year-to-date, brand sales were up 7.4% to just over 21,100 vehicles and share
was 2.0%.
The Alfa Romeo Giulietta continued as one of the best selling vehicles in its segment with nearly 500 units sold and share at 6.0%.

Jeep posted another outstanding performance with August sales up 216.5% over the prior year (the highest percentage increase for any auto brand in Italy) to more than

1,200 vehicles and market share 140 basis points higher at 2.08%.
For the year-to-date, brand sales were up 263.1% to more than 19,600 vehicles and share was 1.8% (+130 bps).
This result was driven by the success of the Jeep Renegade, which closed the month with more than 900 units sold and a 14.8% share of the Small SUV segment. August was also a positive month for the Grand Cherokee, which registered a 16.3% segment share.
