Fingerprints has just secured initial orders for its T-shape module from two major global card manufacturers, to be used in dual-interface (contact and contactless) payment cards. The T-shape module is optimized for integration into smartcards using existing industry process, and is part of the ultra-thin FPC1300-series, which has ultra-low power consumption with superior biometric performance, a key requirement for handling contactless transactions.

'This is a minor volume, but an important milestone for us, and shows that we are on the right track towards commercializing our smartcard offer', says Thomas Rex, SVP Business Line Smartcards at Fingerprints.
