The Finish Line Youth Foundation announced today that it raised more than $1.2M through its summer fundraising efforts, consisting of its 12th annual golf outing and its #GetKidsActive campaign hosted in Finish Line stores and online at finishline.com. These funds will be used to support the non-profit’s efforts to make a difference in the lives of youth in communities throughout the U.S. via grants and volunteerism opportunities including Special Olympics.

The Youth Foundation’s golf outing was attended by executives and employees of The Finish Line, Inc. (NASDAQ: FINL) as well as business partners and distinguished guests, such as ESPN college basketball analyst Jay Bilas.

“On behalf of the Youth Foundation, I am so thankful for the support we received through our golf outing and our back-to-school fundraising drive,” said Marty Posch, executive director of the Finish Line Youth Foundation. “The success of these events will benefit youth across the country and promote opportunities for healthy and active lifestyles.”

The Youth Foundation supports qualified, non-profit organizations that provide community-based access to athletics for youth. Presenting sponsors for the outing included adidas, IBM, Nike, Puma and Under Armour. Platinum sponsors included ASICS, CBTS, Converse, Fifth Third/Vantiv, Innomark Communications, Manhattan Associates, Oracle, Skechers, Sof Sole and Toshiba.

From playgrounds to sports fields, the month-long back-to-school campaign, #GetKidsActive, focused on building more play time into kids’ schedules. To learn more about the Youth Foundation, visit www.flyf.org.
