Finmeccanica-AgustaWestland's family of new generation helicopters continues to collect successes. Thanks to orders placed in the areas of Corporate and Offshore transport  and air ambulance, the twin engine AW169 and AW189 will soon land in Scandinavia and Great Britain.

The new supplies have been announced on the occasion of Finmeccanica-AgustaWestland's participation at the Helitech International, the exhibition dedicated to the helicopter industry, which was held in October 14-16 in Amsterdam.

In particular, the new AW169 was chosen by the Norwegian Norsk Luftambulanse to perform EMS (Emergency Medical Services) services both in Norway and in Denmark; two "corporate" versions of the helicopter were instead ordered in Great Britain, bringing up to 13 the number of AW189 already sold in the country, either in EMS or Corporate/VIP configurations.

The participation at the show in Amsterdam has also provided the opportunity to announce the delivery of first AW189 in Offshore configuration to the Danish Bel Air that will use it to perform transport missions on oil platforms in the North Sea. To this first aircraft, it will be added shortly a second one, currently being delivered, meanwhile new preliminary agreements were signed for the purchase of a third machine. The Danish company, which will operate also six AW139, will then enrich the "Family" of AgustaWestland helicopters in its endowment.

Designed and built to meet the operational needs of both public and private operators, the AW169 stands today as a reference point for the market thanks to its modernity and usability. There are more than 120 orders for the new generation twin-engine mid-range helicopter, able to carry out several missions, including air ambulance, public safety and Corporate / VIP, Offshore and Utility transportation, responding to the more stringent and updated safety standards. The first deliveries are expected for next year, right after the civil certification of the helicopter.

The EMS configuration of the helicopter presented at Helitech is particularly spacious, able to accommodate two stretchers, facilitating access to health care personnel and optimizing the arrangement of the equipment necessary to the management of medical emergencies. In the Corporate / VIP transport configuration, the AW169 can accommodate comfortably up to ten passengers.

Designed to meet the growing market demand for a multi-role, versatile, affordable and middle class helicopter, the twin-engine medium transport AW189 is already a market leader in its class (8 tons). Ordained in 130 specimens from 15 operators in over ten nations, the aircraft is the best solution for long-range Offshore and SAR (Search and Rescue - Search and Rescue) missions and it's currently in service with Bristow, Gulf Helicopters and Weststar Aviation Services.

To complete the idea of the company's offer presented during Helitech, a large section of the exhibition was dedicated to customer care. The training systems and solutions on display testified for the efforts made by the company in the improvement of safety standards and the reduction of operating costs through technology and innovation.
