AKRON, Ohio, Dec. 11, 2014 -- Penn Power will work with community officials, the VFW and others to place banners honoring area military heroes on utility poles in downtown Evans City Borough.  The request was made earlier this month by Evans City Borough officials and has been endorsed by local VFW representatives.

"This project is important to the community, our customers and our employees in the area," said Randall Frame, president of Ohio Edison and Penn Power.  "We look forward to working with area officials and others to find a way to safely place these banners on display in Evans City."

Frame said company engineers will review plans submitted by the community and make any adjustments needed to assure the safety of the public and employees before the banners are installed.
