Under the terms of the agreement, on July 1st, 2016, each share of AGL Resources common stock was canceled and converted into the right to receive $66.00 in cash, for a total purchase price of approximately $8 billion.

Shares in Akron, Ohio-based FirstEnergy Corp. ended yesterday's session 1.94% lower at $35.89.
