Flight Centre Travel Group hosted its third annual WomenWise luncheon yesterday in Brisbane.

180 Flight Centre women from all around Australia flew to Brisbane for an afternoon of networking and inspirational keynotes at Rydges in Southbank. The event was sponsored by Virgin Australia.

The ladies heard from guest speakers including media commentator, Shelley Horton and CEO of Emergent, Holly Ransom.

WomenWise was established in 2016 by a group of Flight Centre's senior female leaders to inspire all women by showcasing opportunity, providing role models and offering structured support to create gender balance in all leadership teams across FCTG.

As one of the initiatives designed to encourage and empower the 72% female FCTG workforce, the event came a day after FCTG celebrated success at the Women in Travel Awards.

FCTG's Astrid Richardson, currently on maternity leave, won Mentor of the Year, Corporate Traveller's Miling Harpur walked away with coveted Sales Person of the Year and COO, Melanie Waters-Ryan ranked four in the Women in Travel Power List, a list of the 20 most influential women in the travel industry.
