DALLAS, October 3, 2012 - Flowserve Corporation (NYSE: FLS), a leading provider of flow control products and services for the global infrastructure markets, today announced it has been awarded a five-year contract from Dow Benelux to perform maintenance of its rotating equipment and general machining. Flowserve will initially open an onsite Quick Response Center (QRC) at Dow's Terneuzen, Netherlands, facility. The QRC will employ approximately 35 people and will be designed to handle all rotating equipment maintenance for the Terneuzen facility.

Within three years, Flowserve plans to relocate this QRC and become an integral part of Maintenance Valuepark Terneuzen, a regional center of excellence where Dow Benelux and other companies can obtain services focused on the maintenance functions of the process industry. The Valuepark is an initiative of several maintenance service-providing companies, educational institutions and the government to establish a world class maintenance and education center.

Flowserve has been a Dow global provider for several years in the supply and maintenance of pumps, mechanical seals and valves. The knowledge accumulated as a result of working with Dow's facilities around the world has positioned Flowserve to be a key partner in further developing maintenance processes at Dow Benelux. Flowserve also plans to use its expertise to identify and help implement additional reliability, energy and environmental improvements in Dow's equipment operations. Flowserve's ability to provide turnkey care for Dow's rotating equipment enables Dow to focus more resources on its core competencies.

"We are very proud that Dow Benelux has entrusted Flowserve with this important project," said Kirk Wilson, president, Services and Solutions Operations. "This agreement fully aligns with our strategy to provide total equipment lifecycle solutions to the process industry, including everything from the supply of new equipment to operations and maintenance support using our comprehensive portfolio of end user services and solutions."
