DALLAS, September 20, 2012 - Flowserve Corporation (NYSE: FLS), a leading provider of flow control products and services for the global infrastructure markets, will lead a webinar titled Mechanical Seals Construction and Design on Oct. 9, 1-2 p.m. EDT (USA). This is the second presentation from the Mechanical Seals Webinar series of 2012 produced by the Hydraulic Institute, Pump Systems Matter, and in collaboration with the Fluid Sealing Association.

Mike Huebner, Flowserve principal engineer, will present Section #2 of the 4-part series and will address different design features used in common mechanical seals. He will explain the strengths and weaknesses of various design options and impact of design features on seal performance.  He will also discuss seal faces, springs, seal glands and more.

Huebner has more than 30 years of experience in the design of mechanical seals, centrifugal and positive displacement pumps and fluid conditioning equipment. He has a bachelor's degree in engineering technology from Texas A&M University.

Webinar participants are led by and have access to industry-leading experts in this non-commercial educational forum. Webinar participants can also receive up to four professional development hours. Professional Development Hour (PDH) credits are offered after the completion of each live webinar.
