Ford Motor Company and Ford Motor Company Fund today announced total donations of more than $800,000 to 13 area nonprofit organizations in 2014.

Many of the donations will be made through Operation Better World, its charitable giving partnership in Nashville with area Ford dealers. Ford Fund is focusing its philanthropic efforts on key areas of concern to Nashville residents including community life, education and healthcare and community life.

“Ford Motor Company’s commitment to our community and its support in addressing the concerns facing our community is gratifying,” said John Barker, chairman, Middle Tennessee Ford Dealers Association. “With these resources, we can Go Further to tackle such issues as education, healthcare and community life – all while making a difference for our neighbors.”

Ford Motor Company Fund and its dealers will continue to play a major role in the transformation of Nashville’s public high schools, working closely with The Academies of Nashville. Ford Next Generation Learning was instrumental in this program early on, and continues to invest time and dollars in efforts to prepare next-generation learners for life after high school.

Helping to enrich the Nashville area’s cultural heritage with country music, Ford and its dealers will make a major contribution to the newly expanded Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum, including continuing its very successful “Ford Free Day.”

Other major contributions include support for teen safe driving initiatives through a unique collaboration with Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt, and support for The Rochelle Center, which offers meaningful opportunities for disabled adults and their families.

Other organizations receiving grants include the Nashville Zoo, Our Kids, Hands on Nashville, Habitat for Humanity, United Way, Junior Achievement and JDRF (formerly Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation).
