Statement from Fortescue CEO Nev Power PERTH, 2 DECEMBER 2014: Statement from Fortescue Metals Group Chief

Executive Officer Nev Power:
"As part of Fortescue's zero tolerance policy on the use and possession of illegal drugs, our company is leading an industry-wide anti-drug operation in conjunction with the West Australian police.
"Today leaders from Fortescue escorted a police team, including sniffer dogs, as they conducted random drug searches on inbound flights carrying employees and contractors to our Christmas Creek mine.
"Illegal drugs do not belong in the mining industry, just as they do not belong in the community, and anyone who uses illegal drugs on a Fortescue site is putting the safety of themselves and their mates at risk, which is unacceptable. I would encourage anyone with information about illegal drugs anywhere in the community to speak up and call Crimestoppers on 1800 333 000.
"Fortescue is taking the lead in the fight against drugs because we care about the safety of our people and because drugs are hurting the communities in which we all live."
