FortiGate technology will once again enable ultra low-latency, secure experience for another 10,000+ coders and gamers

Stockholm, Sweden, June 11, 2015 - Fortinet® (NASDAQ: FTNT), a global leader in high-performance cyber security solutions, is continuing its successful, long-running association with DreamHack by providing ultra low-latency firewall technology to secure the visitor experience. With just one week to go before opening its doors at Elmia, Jönköping - DreamHack Summer 2015 organisers are confident in the capabilities of the latest FortiGate-3700D high performance firewall to ensure coders and gamers receive full benefit from the blistering speed of DreamHack's multi-Gigabit Internet connectivity.

"We're proud to support DreamHack for another year and look forward to enjoying the carnival atmosphere and record-breaking technology feats of this unique event," said Bernt Frogner, Channel Director (North) at Fortinet. "The network demands of DreamHack are quite extreme, but our technology is purpose-built for extreme performance and can manage these demands in its stride."

With multiple Internet links from TeliaSonera providing the DreamHack event with up to 40Gbps Internet bandwidth, the task for the two clustered FortiGate-3700Ds is to protect the internal network from attack. Using Fortinet's high-performance ASICs, the FortiGate-3700D can achieve 160Gbps firewall throughput and has achieved market-leading latency of just 3μs (microseconds) in independent tests.

"Security is vital - we understand how much visitors value and trust our network," said Ulf Blixt, responsible for the Fortinet installation at DreamHack. "But gamers and coders see latency as the biggest threat to their experience. This is why we only work with technology partners that understand how to reduce that down to tiny fractions of a second."
