On 13 December in Paris, France, Fosun co-organized the 'Frenship 2.0 Fosun Happiness Paris' with its portfolio company, the world's premier resort operator, Club Med. Guests were treated to a high energy Club Med themed event that provided networking opportunities in a relaxed atmosphere.

Located under the Eiffel Tower, Café de l'Homme served as the location for this event. This unique geographical location brought nearly 200 guests from all around the world together to enjoy the romance of France. The Chinese ambassador to France, Mr. Zhai Jun, Former President of France, Mr. Valery Giscard d'Estaing together with his wife, Former French Prime Minister Mr. Jean-Pierre Raffarin, Former French Minister, Mr. Dominique Bussereau, Former Prime Minister of The Republic of Benin, Mr. Lionel Zinsou, Chairman of Fosun International, Mr. Guo Guangchang, Fosun Global Partner and Club Med's Global President, Mr. Henri Giscard d'Estaing and many other influential guests and leading European members of Fosun attended the event.

This is Fosun's second event in Paris following the success of the Sino-French business exchange, 'Frenship', held in Paris in 2013. Erhu performers from China, Cirque du Soleil performers and G.Os (Gentle Organizers) from Club Med worked together to perform at the event, presenting the guests with a wonderful visual feast that brought together China and the West.

In the four years since, the Fosun Family in France has grown to include 5 member companies including the original partnership with Club Med. The event was hosted by Mr. Henri Giscard d'Estaing, the Global President of Club Med and one of Fosun's Global Partners. He has been a valuable participant throughout Fosun's globalization era and expressed his sincere gratitude to the distinguished guests in attendance.

Since partnering with Fosun in 2010, Club Med's globalization strategy has been absolutely remarkable. In January 2018, Club Med will open a new ski resort in Tomamu, Hokkaido, which will be its second vacation resort in Japan. Meanwhile, Grand Massif Samoëns, a ski resort at the foot of the Alps officially opens this month.

Chinese ambassador to France, Mr. Zhai Jun said, 'It is a great honor to be able to attend this event with my fellow Chinese and French entrepreneurs. 2017 has been an extraordinary year to both France and China. China convened the 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China while France has undergone a historic presidential election. Under these two major political agendas, China and France have entered a new era. The healthy and stable development of Sino-French relations has undoubtedly established a strong foundation and healthy environment for trade cooperation between the two countries as well as between Chinese and French entrepreneurs. The coming together of Fosun and Club Med in 2010 can be said to be a successful example of Sino-French investment and cooperation. It is our hope that the joint efforts of entrepreneurs from both countries, based on the foundation of common prosperity, will create more and more cases of cooperation between China and France, which will lay the foundation for further development between the two countries.'

Chairman of Fosun International Guo Guangchang said, 'Fosun and Club Med became strategic partners 7 years ago, marking the first chapter of Fosun opening up the French market. Since then, Fosun has strengthened the worldwide competitiveness of Club Med with its global strategy of 'Combining China's Growth Momentum with Global Resources.' Club Med currently has four resorts in China, making China Club Med's second largest market for resorts outside of France. By 2020, the two parties plan to have 20 resorts opened in China. Just like a budding relationship that is headed towards marriage, Fosun's business relationship with this French company has grown closer and more intimate since Club Med's successful privatization in 2015.'

Four years ago, Fosun organized a Sino-French entrepreneurial exchange event 'Frenship' in Paris, which signifies the friendship between the two nations.Fosun has since played a connecting role, promoting the exchange and cooperation between China and France. Today, many other outstanding French companies have joined Fosun alongside Club Med, including the French health food industry leader St. Hubert which has 113 years of history, the PAREF Asset management platform which is listed on the Euronext stock exchange, the French fashion designer brand IRO and French pharmaceutical distribution company Tridem Pharma, which is the third largest drug distribution company in French-speaking West Africa. As new members of Fosun's family, business representatives from these portfolio companies got up to the stage to share their ambitions with guests after joining Fosun. Through ONE FOSUN, Fosun will continue focusing on health, happiness and wealth sectors in providing better products and services to family customers around the world.

Chairman of Fosun International Guo Guangchang said, 'Through the process of globalization, Fosun has invested in overseas companies not to convert them into Chinese companies, but to use Fosun's integrated ecology to help them become bigger and stronger. At present, Fosun not only offers these enterprises dynamic support from China, it also brings to them global resources. Fosun will continue to search for future members on a global scale to build a stronger and happier ecosystem. We hope that Fosun and its member companies will be able to make the world a better place.'
