TheUSD11.3 millionproject involvedsupply, installation and commissioning of pre-fabricated data centre facilities for Myanmar's Ministry of Planning and Finance was officially kicked off by FPT IS on June 7.

The project is the biggest IT project of the Myanmar government funded by World Bank in order to modernise the nation's public finance system.

Accordingly FPT IS will install and run 6 data centre facilities in 6 Implementing Agencies located in Nay Pyi Taw and Yangon. The project will take 9 months to complete and FPT IS will continue to support operations for the next three years.

Earlier, FPT beat 12 competitors from China, India, Singapore, Malaysia and Myanmar to bag this project.

FPT had implemented several of key projects in Myanmar, including the national financial switching system for Myanmar Payment Union, the National Portal, and the ERP system for United Paints Group, a leading paint manufacturer in the country etc.

Myanmar, with a population of more than 54 million people, and a policy of pursuing robust economic integration, is ranked among the top developing markets for FPT IS in particular and FPT in general,

According to Deputy General Director of FPT Corporation cum FPT Myanmar Chairman Duong Dung Trieu, FPT had applied its experiences gained from successful implementation in Vietnam in the developing countries. In fact, a number of million dollar projects in Bangladesh and Myanmar are being undertaken and successfully carried out by FPT.

'Winning this contract once again proves that FPT's global strategy for the developing markets is on the right track', stated Mr. Trieu.

It is expected that all FPT members will have been present in Myanmar by 2020 so that all made-by-FPT solutions can be used by our Myanmar customers.
